Comet's Training Camp 2025-26

Comets Staff

The Beausejour Comet's are to open the 2025-26 Season with their training camp on September 7 at 12:15 pm at Seven Oaks Arena in Winnipeg.  The Comet's home rink is under going some facility upgrades and won't be ready in time for the start of camp.  The Comet's are excited to host camp at Seven Oaks Arena and General Manager Curt Ramsden hopes to attract some players from Winnipeg that maybe wouldn't other wise come to camp outside of the city limits. Ramsden mentioned that "It gives us an opportunity to show case our franchise to a different demographic, and an opportunity for new players to see first hand how we run our team.  Our ultimate goal is to provide a 1st class playing experience for players and their families and show them how we appreciate our guys".

The Comet's are entering their 4th season as a franchise in the CRJHL and are looking to build upon an impressive first three years in the league. The Comet's finished tied for fourth place in their inaugural year and were eliminated by the Lundar Falcons in the first round of playoffs in 22-23.  Year 2 brought changes and Glen Mclean named Beausejour's Curt Ramsden as the General Manager. Ramsden quickly went out and hired long time player and coach Troy Kennedy as the teams 2nd coach.  The team made some roster shuffles and added some veteran Junior local talent to bolster the roster.  The Comet's doubled their points from the first year and tied 3rd with the Falcons again.  This time the team went on to upset the heavily favored Selkirk Fishermen in the semi finals in 5 games.  The Comet's then went on to take the St. Malo Warriors to the 6th game but ended up losing in a hard fought series.  Year 3 brought on a whole new sense of confidence and inner expectation for the squad.  Again the team added to the talent level with more local flavor with a number of 18 year old rookies.  The team finished with 70 points good for a second place finish only trailing the first place Warriors by 4 points.  Once again the Comet's found themselves in the finals and were able to push the Warriors to game 7 but still the championship eluded them, losing in a heart breaking game 7.

The Comet's have been playing in front of the most amazing supportive fans and sponsors. They have been filling the building and averaging 300 - 400 during the regular season and absolutely packing the arena in the playoffs with crowds reaching 1100-1300 Comet crazy fans!  You want to come and play in front of the most amazing Jr Hockey fans, get signed up the for the 2025-26 training camp and be apart of a real motivated franchise!
